Tottenham are starting life under Ange Postecoglou on a high after winning 2-0 against Manchester United on August 19th. While the bulk of Spurs’ transfer moves are done, that doesn’t mean that will be the end of players linked to the club. One player in particular recently linked to joining Spurs is Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Romano: Eberechi Eze likely to stay at Crystal Palace despite Tottenham interest

Fabrizio Romano recently revealed via his daily briefing substack that Tottenham are admirers of Eberechi Eze, but the player is unlikely to leave Selhurst Park this summer.

"“Honestly, I don’t see Crystal Palace selling Eberechi Eze this summer. Tottenham Hotspur really appreciate the player but there’s nothing in it at the moment. I don’t expect that to change because only a really huge bid could change the situation.” [source]"

Crystal Palace has already fended off Chelsea’s interest, who wanted to sign Michael Olise. As The Top Flight reported, Crystal Palace was willing to move to legal action against Chelsea for supposedly “tapping up” Olise. The French winger ultimately re-signed with Palace, signalling the club does not want to lose their star players easily. Eze’s situation is much the same as Romano reports. Crystal Palace are not forcing themselves into selling a player just because teams are interested in them.

Eberechi Eze has two years left on his contract meaning Crystal Palace will have to make an important decision next summer on his future at the club. Eze enjoyed a strong 2022-23 Premier League campaign, netting ten goals and recording four assists as a 24-year-old. He has been described as an “influential player” for Crystal Palace. Born and raised in London, Eze has played for a variety of clubs from the nation’s capital at the youth level. He spent time in the academies of Arsenal, Fulham, Millwall and QPR. Eze joined Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2020.
