West Ham United haven’t had an amazing transfer window as it was personified in their opening Premier League fixture, where they were held at a 1-1 draw away from home at Bournemouth. Given their involvement in the Europa League, David Moyes is under pressure to make some new signings.

This summer, the Hammers have lost key players in Gianluca Scamacca, Declan Rice, Manuel Lanzini Nikola Vlasic. In return, the London club has signed James Ward Prowse and Edson Alvarez – two very good and tactically-sound signings.

But with Lucas Paqueta linked with a move away to champions Manchester City, this puts Moyes under even more pressure to bring in an attack-minded player to fill the very important void. It isn’t ridiculous to suggest Jesse Lingard, who has plenty of Premier League experience and is currently a free agent.

Given that he’s training at West Ham to keep up his fitness levels, the logical consensus is that David Moyes has one eye on signing him. These are certainly the rumours doing the rounds on social media, but they have no underlying truth.

West Ham have not considered signing Jesse Lingard

According to the Daily Mail, David Moyes has not considered signing Jesse Lingard despite him currently being at the West Ham camp. The Scottish manager who coached Lingard both at Manchester United and West Ham, claims that he needs around a month, if not more, until he is ready to be considered a starter at any club.

While Moyes hasn’t ruled out the possibility of re-signing the former Hammers loanee, it’s pretty clear that he doesn’t intend to make this signing any time soon. In my eyes, this is a good thing. It shows that despite the clear time stresses at West Ham, the manager isn’t rushing to make panic signings. There are still times and financial resources, so I’m certain more signings will be made.

Do you think West Ham will sign any more players?
