Mikel Arteta has an abundance of talented Arsenal strikers to choose from, and at the start of the window, a striker was expected to leave. With Eddie Nketiah being mooted as the potential player to leave, he has impressed during pre-season and managed to get himself into the starting lineup on the opening day of the season and score against Nottingham Forest.

However, it looks like Arsenal are to profit from a different striker in terms of money.

Fulham are keen on Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun

The striker that now looks the most likely to leave Arsenal is Folarin Balogun, who has just returned from Reims, where he lit up Ligue Un by finding the net 21 times in the league, which was more than Neymar and Leo Messi.

His stock is still very high after this season, but his future is not expected to be at the Emirates.

With a reported departure of Aleksandar Mitrovic to Al-Hilal, Fulham is light up top, even with the addition of Raul Jimenez. Balogun would fit into the hard-working Fulham side that Marco Silva has created.

How much would Balogun cost?

Fulham may have to do some negotiating with Arsenal over the price tag because, for a 22-year-old who has not proved his worth in England yet, a reported £50 million is a hefty price tag.

However, it will not deter Fulham from having a conversation with Arsenal, as they will be in desperate need of a striker who can find the back of the net, especially if Mitrovic is to leave the club.

What would Balogun offer?

He would be a different type of striker to Mitrovic but not necessarily the wrong striker. His major ability is that of being a lethal finisher and playing on the shoulder of the defender. It would add a different element to the Fulham attack and one that could certainly push them on this season.
