Three Premier League players who need to have bounce back seasons
By Evan Curnew
Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspur)
The starting striker for every flop transfer XI for 22/23 is Richarlison. He joined Tottenham from Everton last summer in a move worth a total of £60m. While he had a few goals called back, Richarlison scored just a single goal last season in the Premier League. For any price, that is an awful return on investment at the centre-forward position. If we are going to cut some slack, he did not play a lot, given he was fighting for minutes with Harry Kane at striker and Dejan Kulusevski at right wing.
Richarlison had a very strong World Cup with Brazil, including scoring a wonder goal versus Serbia.
Now with Harry Kane potentially leaving, it will be Richarlison’s chance to regain form and be the player he was at Everton. Richarlison scored 53 goals in 152 matches across all competitions with the Toffees and solidify himself as an elite striker at the Premier League level. Under new manager Ange Postecoglou, he is in a prime position to have a bounce-back season with Spurs.
