Manchester United and Real Madrid have a special partnership which usually means Manchester United are selling their players to Real Madrid. However, in recent years it has been Manchester United looking to the Spanish giants for reinforcements.
With Angel Di Maria and Casemiro moving to Old Trafford from Santiago Bernabeu in recent years, it has brought varied success for the Red Devils. However, this latest link could well be following in the same way as Casemiro, who has been a huge hit among the Manchester United faithful.
Who is the latest United target?
United are usually linked with every single player in a transfer window, but with the likely departure of Fred and Donny van de Beek, United are looking to pick up a new midfielder alongside Mason Mount.
23-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni is the man who is hopefully the answer to Erik ten Hag’s midfield for years to come. The French midfielder, who scored against England in the World Cup, would be a superb addition to the ranks of Manchester United and would show real intent of how they want the second season under ten Hag to proceed.
What would Tchouameni bring to Manchester United?
Tchouameni is a combative midfielder that would certainly add some grit to the centre of midfield for United. With the tutorship of former Madrid man Casemiro, United would be able to create a defensive midfielder for years.
The Frenchmen is not all about a tackle, but he also likes to control the ball and get involved in dictating the play in the middle of the park. With Tchouameni a player who does not switch off, his concentration levels are key in helping United see out games which are certainly needed after last season, where games could easily become tetchy when they should have been comfortable.
Is a deal possible for the French international?
Tchouameni’s link to United has come as a shock as he seems to still be in the first-team plans of Carlo Ancelotti’s, and with the age of Toni Kroos and Luka Modric not getting any younger, it would be a surprise if Real Madrid let a player go who they only signed last season for £80 million from Monaco.
However, with the arrival of Jude Bellingham and the likelihood of Eduardo Camavinga moving back into his natural central position more frequently this season, then Tchouameni could find himself out of the team.
