Chelsea are a club that is known to attract some of the best talent in the world. If you think about the most elite players in recent history (think De Bruyne, Salah, Kante, Costa and Hazard), they all have one thing in common – links with Chelsea.

Of course, this is down to two reasons – One of them being the obvious, Chelsea are a great club with a great history in European competition. The second reason, though, is they have a history of very wealthy owners who wanted to invest in the club.

Kylian Mbappe states his one condition to Chelsea

Well, despite the club seeming to be on a downward trajectory, Mauricio Pochettino may have attracted the best player in the world. That’s right, it seems like the Kylian Mbappe rumours do have context after all.

According to Sport, Kylian Mbappe has informed Chelsea that he would be open to signing for them. However, the offer is for one year only, so he can leave for Real Madrid when his short contract is over.

When looking to sign a short-term contract, the last place you should consider asking is Chelsea. In the last few seasons, they have quite the crooked reputation of signing players on extremely long contracts to avoid being chased by FFP.

But that aside, this is absolutely an opportunity that the Blues should snatch with both arms. While the new manager is settling into his new club, the best case scenario is to bring in an asset he already knows well for him to shape his tactics around for the first season.

It must be addressed, that this is essentially a loan deal which could still include a transfer fee. But that’s the only way to sign Mbappe, who has his heart set on joining Real Madrid.

Do you think Chelsea should sign Kylian Mbappe for one season?
