It’s the first big match of the new season, as Arsenal and Manchester City play at Wembley Stadium in the Community Shield final. There are no favourites at Wembley, as both sides earned their right to play in this match.
Arsenal vs Manchester City was the tale of last season, as the two clubs battled it out all season for the Premier League trophy. In the end it was the Citizens who lifted the trophy, but Arteta would like an almost-instant bounceback from his team by beating his friend Pep Guardiola’s side.
Arsenal predicted lineup vs Manchester City (Community Shield Final)
With that in mind, a full-strength lineup will be fielded from both managers. Here’s how I expect Mikel Arteta to lineup…
GK: Aaron Ramsdale
This one’s essentially a given. Although the Gunners are chasing David Raya who will play these fixtures if he’s signed, I can’t see this transfer being made by the time Sunday rolls around.
Ramsdale was a terrific goalkeeper last season and although he’s made some mistakes in pre-season, they won’t happen in this match given the magnitude and what’s at stake. If there’s a man you want to shine on a big occasion, it’s Ramsdale.
