Arsenal injury news – Gabriel Jesus misses Emirates Cup fixture

Arsenal comes up against Monaco in the Emirates Cup tonight. The squad is fairly weakened, but this is to be expected for an essentially meaningless game when the Community Shield final is just around the corner.

There are some notable players who made the first team, including Gabriel Martinelli, Thomas Partey, Aaron Ramsdale and Declan Rice. However, nobody has batted an eyelid at the players missing since this is seen as purely rotational.

However, it’s been revealed that one of the absentees is significant. According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have left Gabriel Jesus out of the squad due to a knee issue. It’s thought that he will be assessed in due course.

With the Community Shield fixture against Manchester City just a few days away, it doesn’t look good. However, it’s good that the right measures are being taken. If there is any chance of injury, I don’t expect Arteta to risk Jesus for the sake of the Community Shield.

Arsenal injury news – Reiss Nelson still injured

I can only assume that Reiss Nelson remains injured, as he too is out of the squad. This is the type of fixture you would expect to see Nelson feature in, however, he’s been left out.

Nelson is expected to be back around the middle of the month, so his presence in the Community Shield final against Manchester City is doubtful.
