Chelsea: Poch prepares player-plus-cash bid for the world’s best player
By Kian Long
Chelsea are perhaps the most frivolous club when it comes to the transfer window. However, let’s not overlook that the club has been smart to balance these signings with player departures in recent seasons. Under the new manager Mauricio Pochettino, there has been a slight shift in the calibre of players who the Blues are pursuing and namely, they tend to be young players.
Chelsea plan player-plus-cash move for Kylian Mbappe
According to Record, Chelsea are now planning to make a “player-plus-cash” offer to Paris Saint-Germain to tempt the signing of the best player in the world Kylian Mbappe. The 24-year-old is thought to be for sale after he was not included in the Parisians’ pre-season squad.
Although, as to be expected. clubs are lining up onto the street to sign Mbappe. He is the most coveted asset in world football so there are many interested clubs. After his representatives shook off any possibility of him signing for the Saudi Pro League, it looks like his most likely destination is Real Madrid.
However, we mustn’t overlook the chance of a Premier League side swooping in to sign him. We know that Chelsea are interested in signing him but so too will Manchester United be. There are even claims of Tottenham Hotspur wanting to sign him, but let’s brush over those as the chances of that happening are virtually zero.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have a very good chance to sign Mbappe. It’s rare to see Boehly turn down an investment like this and even given the competition, he would want to outbid any transfer rival.
Mbappe is proven quality. He has shone on some of the world’s biggest stages. But it’s important to address that the Frenchman is unlikely to accept the reality of not playing in the Champions League.
