Arsenal are keen to step in and sign a player who is wanted by Chelsea. With Mikel Arteta making three transfers already, he is keen to make another one, while preventing a league rival from strengthening at the same time. Although, don’t get it twisted, this one isn’t a panic buy. The midfield talent who Mikel Arteta targets next has been wanted by Arsenal for some time, in fact, longer than Chelsea.

Arsenal are keen to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax

According to Express, Arsenal are “keen” to sign the 22-year-old attacking midfield talent from Ajax, Mohammed Kudus. Kudus is being chased by Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of him, but Arteta doesn’t plan to let this prevent him from signing Kudus.

Kudus is a highly-regarded midfielder at Ajax. He is incredibly multi-dimensional as he can play in a number of different positions and roles, although he is mostly a creative attacking midfielder – similar to Martin Odegaard. Kudus would be comfortable in any midfield/attacking role, and could even be used as a back-up centre forward for Gabriel Jesus if required.

At the same time as Kudus, Arsenal are exploring options to sign David Raya. We reported earlier that Arteta was keen on signing the Brentford goalkeeper. If Raya and Kudus were both signed, it would take the total signings the Gunners have made this summer to five and their squad would look near perfect in terms of quality and depth heading into next season.
