Manchester United are planning to rebuild their squad for next season. Erik ten Hag eyes some more signings, but first, they must make the necessary player sales to raise some funds. While the club isn’t exactly in financial dire straits, the Guardian has claimed that player sales must be made before the likes of Sofyan Amrabat are signed.

There are some obvious names which could make their way out of Manchester United, namely midfielders. Fred looks set to leave imminently and Scott McTominay is also attracting interest from other clubs.

Manchester United: Donny van de Beek could finally secure loan

But one midfielder who is often forgotten about is the flop Donny van de Beek. The Dutch manager has failed to make a name for himself at Old Trafford, through a shared fault of his own and the managerial carousel. If anyone was to unleash the beast in Van De Beek, it would’ve been Ten Hag. However, that’s not the case.

Well, according to the latest report from Marca, Real Sociedad are currently in talks to take the Dutch midfielder on loan. It’s thought that Man United will entertain this move, although they are likely to prefer a permanent move if that’s on the cards.

Donny van de Beek is at the stage in his career where he needs to be honest, regardless of how it may hurt. He has no future in Manchester, regardless of the effort he puts in. The competition has never been higher in midfield at Old Trafford and with the club seeking more midfielders to sign, it doesn’t look good for him.

Ageing at 26 years old, he could still make something significant of his career. I’m certain his agents will see this loan move to La Liga as an opportunity to forge a new pathway for the player.

Do you think Manchester United will sell Donny van de Beek?
