Chelsea plan to bring in more attacking options. Yep, the side who has every attacking option imaginable, is looking for more. I guess that this is a good thing, though, as it speaks volumes for Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to build for the future.

Chelsea’s opening bid for Elye Wahi REJECTED

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea have had their opening £24m offer for Elye Wahi rejected by his side Montpellier. Wahi is seen as an option for the future by Mauricio Pochettino, as he would join Strasbourg for a season-long loan before commencing as a Blues player.

The report claims that Mauricio Pochettino is open to the idea of signing a new striker, despite new options Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson playing well in pre-season. The two strikers seem to have an understanding, as they have played together in the same system and flourished, Nkunku playing as the second striker behind Jackson.

Certainly, times are exciting for Chelsea fans next season. Given Mauricio Pochettino’s proven rack record of managing young players and turning them into world-beaters, it’s a great time to join the Stamford Bridge club.

The aim is to make last season a write-off. Chelsea were absolutely abysmal last season, but this was a fault of Boehly’s reckless spending not being in line with the vision of Graham Potter or Thomas Tuchel.

From Wahi’s perspective, he likely deems himself as Premier League ready. Given that he scored an impressive 19 Ligue 1 goals goals last season, he is certainly proving himself to be a great striker and consistent goal scorer.

However, if Pochettino deems a loan spell the best option for his development, then he is likely to accept. For now, Chelsea need to up their bidding to meet Montpellier’s needs.

Who do you think the Blues will sign next?
