West Ham hold talks with Manchester United over DOUBLE British transfer
By Kian Long
The West Ham United board have been hard at work in the last week. As time has progressed in the transfer window, they recognise it’s about time they give the fans something to smile about. So far, it has been all about players leaving the club.
West Ham United open talks with Manchester United duo
According to Sky Sports, the officials at London Stadium have been in initial contact with Manchester United. It’s thought that the TWO players West Ham would like to sign from the Red Devils are England centre-back Harry Maguire and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay.
West Ham’s interest in these two players has been reported a multitude of times over the last number of weeks. However, only now has there been concrete movement from the club.
Maguire would be an excellent addition since he seems like the right player at the wrong club currently. Given his consistent performances for the England national team, West Ham fans will know exactly how solid he can be in the defence. The problem is, under Erik ten Hag he is asked to play as a ball-playing centre back, something he is not used to. This would not be asked of him in London.
For Scott McTominay, he too would be a flawless signing for West Ham. They need a defensively solid midfielder who can come in with leadership qualities to replace club legend Declan Rice. The tenacious Scotland midfielder is exactly that and unlike other options (for example, Edson Alvarez), he has valuable Premier League experience.

West Ham play in the Europa League next season, following their terrific win of the Europa Conference League last time out. Therefore, squad depth but proven quality is needed by David Moyes. He will certainly get those two attributes out of these two players.
Who do you think West Ham will sign before the transfer window closes?
