Manchester United have already been active in the transfer window by making some much needed signings. Both Andre Onana and Mason Mount have been unveiled as reinforcements to Erik ten Hag’s project. But the Dutch manager is not done there.
He would like to bring in a new striker and a new midfielder to add depth. It’s thought that Rasmus Hojlund is the striker of choice for United but we will see how negotiations progress in the coming weeks.
Sofyan Amrabat agrees to join Manchester United
According to journalist Nicolo Schira, Sofyan Amrabat has reached an agreement in principle to sign for Manchester United. It’s thought to be a 5-year deal which will see the Moroccan midfielder sign at Old Trafford until 2028.
Signing Mount already, Amrabat would be a great partner for the new signing. Amrabat has experience playing at the highest level. Within the last year, he heplped Morocco to go the furthest an African side has ever gone in the World Cup. He also played in the Europa Conference League final with Fiorentina.
Let’s not get it twisted, though. Amrabat will sign as a squad player. The amount of quality Erik ten Hag already has within his midfield, it’s difficult to justify a place for Amrabat. But this is good news, though. It means The Red Devils will have plenty of depth when it comes to Champions League squad rotation.
Now, it’s time for Manchester United to enter negotiations with Fiorentina over the transfer fee for Amrabat. Of course, Ten Hag will barter, but the Italian side knows all the money is in England.
