Arsenal have “made contact” to sign Pochettino’s dream Chelsea signing
By Kian Long
Arsenal remain active in the transfer window, although they must focus on shifting some players out before they can make another signing. The good news for Arsenal fans is, though, that Mikel Arteta remains in contact with some exceptional players who he hopes to bring in before the transfer window ends.
Arsenal have been in contact with Mohammed Kudus
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, speaking to Caught Offside, Arsenal have been in contact with a player who is thought to be close to agreeing terms with Chelsea. Mohammed Kudus. The Ajax attacking midfielder is high on the radar for Chelsea, who may be forced into signing an attacking midfielder with Conor Gallagher on his way out.
Although the report states that Chelsea are the closest to signing Kudus, Jacobs does state that Arsenal have made contact with the player in recent weeks. It’s thought that Arteta would like to bring him in, but first he must focus on selling some players to make some room in the squad.
The good news for Arsenal fans is that Kudus can play as a right-winger, which is likely to be where Arteta plans to use him. Of course, Bukayo Saka is the number one option in this position, but there is no backup for the Englishman. Kudus can also play as a centre forward or, obviously, as an attacking midfielder.
Let’s not forget that signing a right winger is high on Mikel Arteta’s wishlist. If he is to make more signings before the window closes, then it’s a safe bet that a backup right winger is included within those deals. Yesterday, we reported that the Gunners would like to sign Michael Olise of Crystal Palace. This means Chelsea and Arsenal will battle for TWO signings.
