Manchester United desperately need to sign an out-and-out striker. Although they have looked good on an attacking front in pre-season, it is important to remember that pre-season doesn’t reflect the needs heading into the new season. I’m sure that Erik ten Hag is in agreement and his next move in the transfer window will be to sign a striker.
According to the latest report from The Telegraph, Daniel Levy (Tottenham Hotspur chairman) has been told he must sell Harry Kane if he cannot tie the striker down to a new contract. This is highly likely given the Englishman’s desire to sign for Bayern Munich.
Manchester United are back in the race for Harry Kane
According to The Mirror, this ultimatum from the Tottenham chairman has put Manchester United back on alert to potentially swoop in and sign Kane. It remains to be seen whether Kane could have his mind changed from Bayern, but pursuing the Premier League goal scoring record could certainly be a convincing factor for the England captain.
At Manchester United, you are guaranteed a much greater chance of winning trophies than at Spurs. Firstly, the club has a rich history and prides itself on its trophy cabinet. Secondly, next season Man United are in the Champions League, whereas Spurs are out of European competitions entirely.
Harry Kane is everything that Erik ten Hag needs. The Dutch manager is crying out for a striker who can guarantee 20+ goals per season to keep up with the robot that is Erling Haaland. Not only does Kane guarantee that tally and more, he is a well-rounded player which, in my opinion, makes him a far better striker than Haaland.
Kane likes to drop deep to help out his team and has a great range of passing meaning that not only is he a goal machine, but he’s the full package.
