Manchester United given a HUGE boost for MAJOR striker deal
By Kian Long
Manchester United remain active in the transfer window. After securing some major deals in Mason Mount and Andre Onana, their quest now is to sign a new striker. Having pinned Marcus Rashford down to a new deal, they would ideally like him to return to his more natural position out wide, bringing in a new central striker who can bring some goals.
Of course, the options for Manchester United are endless. The most likely option seemed to be Ramsus Hojlund of Atalanta, however, the Italian side are refusing to lower their asking price which could put Erik ten Hag off signing him.
Door open for Manchester United to sign Victor Osimhen
Therefore, Manchester United could look to their former striker target, Victor Osimhen. Osimhen is currently one of the best strikers in the world, therefore he is sought after. However, according to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli’s attempt to extend Osimhen’s contract is currently at a stalemate, which would open the door for Manchester United to sign him.
The report claims Chelsea are also interested in signing Osimhen, but this makes no sense to me. They have just signed Jackson and Nkunku, therefore to bring in Osimhen will do nothing except discombobulate the squad and inflate it even more, which is exactly the problem Graham Potter had last season.
The Red Devils, though, do need to bring in a striker. It is the area of most concern to Erik ten Hag currently. To keep up with Arsenal and Manchester City in the race for the title, they must sign a striker who can guarantee 20 plus goals per season. Then, ten Hag is in the right place to push for glory.
Who do you think Manchester United will sign next?
