David Ornstein claims Chelsea “make contact” with former Arsenal target

Chelsea are interested in signing Mohammed Kudus of Ajax
According to the trusted source David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea have “made contact” with Ajax over the potential signing of Mohammed Kudus. Ornstein claims there has been no offer yet but dialogue has occurred between the two clubs and personal terms between the London club and Kudus are close to being agreed.
Kudus would be a monumental signing and would certainly be capable of replacing Mason Mount. Kudus is an attacking midfielder who thrives with the ball at his feet. He is an exceptional dribbler of the ball but has an even better range of passing. He is THE guy to link up play between the midfielders and attackers, so it’s no wonder to see that Chelsea are interested in signing him.
Arsenal were once interested in signing Kudus but it is unlikely they will return to chase him, considering they signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea. Given Edu’s transfer strategy over the last number of seasons, you can always count on a player who was shortlisted by Arsenal.
But I digress, this is about Chelsea. The Blues haven’t been known for making the best quality transfers, but this reputation would certainly change if they signed Kudus. Ajax are known to be a selling club who produces some of the world’s best talents. It is fair to say that Kudus has certainly learnt a lot about the beautiful game and is the ideal trequartista for Mauricio Pochettino to undergo his project.
Who do you think Mauricio Pochettino will sign next?
