“Second bid” Fabrizio Romano issues big transfer update for Aston Villa
By Kian Long
Aston Villa are planning to seriously reinforce their squad this summer in preparation for next season. They will play in European competition as they unbelievably qualified for the Europa Conference League. Unai Emery is the master of Europa competitions, so he will take the qualification very seriously.
Aston Villa have an excellent young squad and things look positive under Emery. However, the Spanish boss is never the type to rest. He is proud of his achievements so far, but certainly not satisfied. Therefore, he would like to push the board to make more signings while the transfer window is still in its earliest days.
Fabrizio Romano has a Moussa Diaby update for Aston Villa fans
According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa have submitted their second bid for Moussa Diaby. This is after Bayer Leverkusen rejected their opening bid. However, Villa will face competition from Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr, who have also submitted a lucrative financial package.
Still, according to Romano, Villa remain hopeful they can get the deal over the line. Should the deal be hijacked by Al Nassr, though, there are options. One of those options is Jeremy Doku, the pacey Belgian forward who plays for Rennes.
Given the options considered by Unai Emery, it is clear what he aims to do. He is thinking for the long-term by targeting some of the best young talents in the world. He does not want last season to simply be a fluke, but instead sees it as a pedestal on which to build and continue the fine project he has going for him in the West Midlands.
