Brighton have had a good summer to far. Having addressed the main problems within their squad, Roberto De Zerbi is keen to bring in some more signings. It’s the club’s first season in the Europa League, therefore they are looking to bolster the squad and replace the significant departures to ensure they maximise their chances.
Having brought in some excellent midfield reinforcements, the two priorities for the Seagulls are to sign a central defender (to replace Levi Colwill, who returns to Chelsea) and a versatile forward, which certainly helps with depth.
According to recent reports, Brighton are currently leading the race for TWO big transfers, beating some hefty competition in the process. Those two transfer targets are as follows:
Brighton lead the race for Cole Palmer from Manchester City
According to a report from The Telegraph, Brighton lead the race (ahead of Burnley and Leicester City) to sign Cole Palmer on loan from Manchester City.
Given the England U-21 side’s recent successes, Cole Palmer was one of their standout players and started in the final. However, he does not have an immediate place in the Man City starting eleven, so Pep would like to see how he develops at a different side – Brighton would be the perfect stepping stone for him.
Brighton lead the race for Igor from Fiorentina
Those who read yesterday’s transfer news will know that Roberto De Zerbi is keen to sign Fiorentina central defender Igor. The Brazil international would be an incredible asset and would bring European experience to the South Coast, given his involvement in the Europa Conference League final recently.
Who do you think Brighton and Hove Albion will sign this summer?
