Last season Bournemouth were a team just promoted, looking to survive the drop. They did so in a respectable fashion, and now they look to take the next step. Under the new ownership of Bill Foley, the club has already added Justin Kluivert and Romain Faivre. The next player on the list of incoming this summer is AZ Alkmaar’s Milos Kerkez.

Fabrizio Romano has exclusively revealed that the Hungarian fullback is set to join AFC Bournemouth. His medical for the transfer is expected to take place shortly, and the official fee is worth £15.5M in total. Bournemouth have beaten out Lazio to complete the transfer after the Italian side was seen as the clear frontrunners just days ago. It has to be said the Premier League pull is crazy. Lazio will be playing Champions League football next season, but Milos Kerkez will land with Bournemouth in the end.

At just 19 years old, Milos Kerkez is seen as a rising star for Hungary. Born and raised in Serbia, Milos Kerkez made his debut for the Hungarian National Team last year. Kerkez briefly played professional football in Hungary before making a move to AC Milan’s academy. He then found his way to AZ Alkmaar in January 2022, where he first played with the U23 side. It was only this past season that Milos Kerkez had been a regular for AZ, but it was an impressive campaign to garner this move.

A new left-back was on the top of Bournemouth’s list for this transfer window. Jordan Zemura left on a free transfer for Udinese, while the loan for AS Roma’s Matias Vina has expired. Lloyd Kelly spent time at left-back last season, which was his position originally at Bristol City. Nonetheless, since his move to the south coast, Kelly has progressed into more of a centre-back. Bringing in such a talented player as Kerkez surely has the Cherries excited.
