Liverpool Transfer News – Despite rumours, Liverpool are not contenders for Moises Caicedo
Reports have surfaced that Liverpool are considering a late move for Moises Caicedo, but those look to be untrue. Fabrizio Romano reiterates that Chelsea is the only club actively pursuing the Brighton midfielder and, additionally, is the only club to reach personal terms with the player. For Chelsea fans, the process has felt really dragged out. Romano states that despite the slow progress, there still is some progress toward a deal being completed. All signs point to Moises Caicedo eventually becoming a Chelsea player, and there is little reason to believe Liverpool could hijack the deal.
Liverpool Transfer News – Club expected to accept £40M bid from Al-Ittihad for Fabinho
As The Top Flight reported earlier today, Al-Ittihad is interested in signing Liverpool defensive midfielder Fabinho. While reports early today suggested things in the early stages, it is now believed Liverpool will accept the Saudi’s club bid once it comes in. Neil Jones of Goal [via The Redmen TV] thinks that Liverpool will absolutely accept Al-Ittihad’s bid should it be in the floated-around figure of £40M. Jones feels that should Fabinho come in, a replacement will absolutely follow. Romeo Lavia, who is linked to the club, makes sense as a replacement, but Jones thinks it is unlikely the club go without a veteran option at CDM.
Liverpool Transfer News – Romeo Lavia is still a focus despite Fabinho and Henderson’s transfers
This week for Liverpool, it’s been all about Jordan Henderson and Fabinho both potentially leaving for Saudi Arabia. When looking at incoming players, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia is still seen as a ‘focus’ for Liverpool, according to Sacha Tavolieri. It has now been widely reported that the club has been in contact with the player’s entourage. James Pearce of The Athletic reports that Liverpool believes Southampton’s valuation of £50M is nowhere near reasonable. That may end up being a major stumbling block on the road to finalizing any deal for the Belgian midfielder.
