“Almost” Fabrizio Romano has very big news for Manchester United target
By Kian Long
FINALLY, a Manchester United transfer saga which has been going on for what feels like years is coming to its very happy ending. This summer, the Red Devils have been involved in two lengthy transfer negotiations, one including Mason Mount who is now officially confirmed, and another who is soon to be confirmed.
Manchester United set to finalise Andre Onana deal
Well, that’s if reports from Fabrizio Romano are anything to go by – And they almost are something to go by. The trusted transfer expert has claimed that Manchester United and Inter Milan are approaching the final stages of agreement, with Onana expected to become a Manchester United player TODAY.
Whether or not this means Onana will be officially announced today remains to be seen, but it does give fans of the club a reason to breathe the same sigh of relief they breathed when Mount became finalised.
Onana is Manchester United’s biggest transfer so far, purely out of the necessity. With David de Gea leaving the club, Erik ten Hag is depleted of options between the sticks. Therefore, signing a player in the calibre of Andre Onana is a huge statement of intent.
Ten Hag has worked with Onana in his days at Ajax, so he knows exactly what Onana offers. What the shot-stopper offers is someone who is comfortable in possession of the ball, and can be found outside of his box without receiving a nose bleed. This is exactly what Ten Hag has been crying out for, but ruined De Gea in his final years.
Do you think Andre Onana will be a success at Manchester United?
