Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool are working to replace Jordan Henderson
By Kian Long
Given the green light which was given by Jurgen Klopp for Jordan Henderson to sign for Al-Ettifaq, Liverpool are working hard to bring in his replacement. Having already signed two midfielders and converted Trent Alexander-Arnold to the midfield role in case, Klopp still isn’t happy with the overall depth of his squad.
Indeed, the club plan to remain active in the transfer window. Thankfully for fans, they won’t have just signed two midfielders and dipped, they would like to strengthen further in this position.
Liverpool look to replace Jordan Henderson
According to the transfer king Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are working hard to bring in Jordan Henderson’s replacement. In fact, they had been planning to sign another midfielder even before the Henderson saga.
Romano thinks that the club are considering Romeo Lavia of Southampton, but are yet to make a move for the teenager. Also, the club is looking at other options.
Further news today suggests that Liverpool might not only lose Henderson, but Fabinho too. Both players are the subject of interest in Saudi and while it would take a lot for Klopp to allow them both to leave, it’s certainly possible with the financial power held within the Saudi Pro League currently.
The Reds didn’t have the best season last time out, I think that’s fair to say. This was a domino effect which was caused by the board’s lack of investment into the midfield in recent seasons. Now, they are pretty much forced into signing midfielders and to be fair, they have made some wise choices so far. Signing Lavia would be the icing on the cake.
