Manchester United transfer news – “Final stage” entered for Andre Onana

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are now in the final stage of negotiations to sign Andre Onana. Further, the report claims that this deal could be finalised THIS week once personal terms are agreed between Onana and the club.

Signing a goalkeeper in the calibre of Andre Onana is of utmost priority to Erik ten Hag. Given the confirmed departure of David de Gea who is now a free agent, United are void in this position so must sign a player of quality to replace the Spaniard. Good news, then.

Manchester United transfer news – Everton inquire about Tom Heaton

Speaking of goalkeepers, United could lose another one. Although, if we’re being real, this isn’t as big a loss as David de Gea.

According to The Mirror, Everton have made an enquiry about signing Tom Heaton from Man United. This could be because they fear a big swoop for their best player Jordan Pickford, or simply they require backup for him. Either way, Erik ten Hag would probably like to finalise the Onana deal before agreeing to this.

Manchester United transfer news – Price named for Harry Maguire

According to Manchester Evening News, the club has set an asking price of £50m for their captain Harry Maguire. Nope, that’s not a spelling mistake, they genuinely want £50m for Harry Maguire. I don’t know what they’re smoking at Old Trafford.

Understandably, Erik ten Hag would like to recuperate some of the club’s losses with Maguire after spending a big fee on him. But I think they’ll have to be forced into settling for less, unless anybody is that desperate to sign a 30-year-old defender.
