Today is a big day for Spurs as they could complete another big signing. Having already made a big statement by signing James Maddison, new manager Ange Postecoglou could sign another player with Premier League experience today.
Manor Solomon undergoes his Spurs medical
According to an update from the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manor Solomon is in London at the moment to undergo his medical tests. He is set to join the club as a free agent from Shakhtar Donetsk. Further, if his medical goes to plan as it does more often than not, then his formal contract will take place within the next 24 hours.
The first season for Ange is going to a big one. After inheriting a mess, he is taking the right steps to fix the squad and make it the best possible match for his vision. Having already spent big money, it’s good to see he is being resourceful by dabbling in the free agent market, where are oftentimes gems.
Solomon boasts Premier League experience as he spent last season on loan at Fulham. It was a successful loan spell, despite appearing from the bench more often than he would’ve liked. Still, he scored four Premier League goals and was part of a good campaign for the Cottagers.
For Spurs, this is a great signing since there can be no loss of investment on a free player. If he succeeds, which I think he will, then it will be an excellent steal from the Lilywhites but if he underperforms, it’s no big deal.
