Ange Postecoglou hints Spurs’ best player could LEAVE this summer

As Spurs have been making movements in the transfer window recently, there is still one thought at the back of fans’ minds. That thought is whether or not they can keep ahold of their best player, Harry Kane.

We are aware of interest AND bids from Bayern Munich. This has been a very public affair, as you can imagine with a name that drives as many clicks as Harry Kane’s. However, fans can take some reassurances in the fact that Kane has a year remaining on his contract and has been respectful to the club until this point.

With new manager Ange Postecoglou formally taking charge of Spurs, he would like his first season to centre around Harry Kane. Nobody at the club knows it as well as the Englishman.

However, in a recent press conferenced quoted by Fabrizio Romano, Ange dropped a hint that he is not so sure whether Harry Kane will stay. The quotation reads as follows: “Assurances that Kane is staying? I haven’t had any assurances. I wouldn’t expect any.”

It is a quotation which can be taken one of two ways. From an optimistic perspective, you would argue “well, of course”. Of course Postecoglou doesn’t know for sure whether Kane will remain a Spurs player. I’m sure that not even Harry himself knows that. Therefore, it’s up in the air and it’s not confirmed that he’s leaving, either.

From a pessimistic perspective, though, it would’ve been nice to have an assurance on Kane. I guess this, or its opposite, will come in due time.
