The Manchester United board will be happy but not satisfied after signing Mason Mount. As big a signing this is, as a team who would like to challenge for the Premier League title next season, the Red Devils must keep pushing to make more deals happen. Erik ten Hag has a transfer strategy and he’ll stop at nothing until it is fulfilled.

The two primary positions which United must focus on now is signing a striker and a goalkeeper. The reason why signing a goalkeeper is so important is because… Well… They kinda don’t have one at the moment.

The name which floats around a lot is Andre Onana. Understandably so, Onana is one of the best goalkeepers in the world, highlighted by his performances in the Champions League last season. With David de Gea’s contract run down, Onana could be his most suitable replacement.

Manchester United in “direct contact”  with Inter involving Andre Onana

According to the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are currently in “direct contact” with Inter about the signing of their goalkeeper. It’s believed that personal terms will be a breeze since the player wants the move, but it is just a transfer fee and a payment plan which the two clubs must agree upon. As the discussions take place, more is to follow.

Manchester United will inevitably face competition from Saudi Arabia, where Onana is also of interest. Further, with the ongoing takeover rumours at Old Trafford, this could have an impact on the deal. However, at this point in time, fans should be happy with United’s position in this transfer race.

Where do you think Andre Onana will sign?
