As expected, Mason Mount is currently undergoing his medical tests in Carrington ahead of his imminent move to Manchester United. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, should all go to plan, then a club statement is expected soon.

Mount has been the main talking point over the last month as it is clear that Erik ten Hag always wanted him. After some difficult negotiations with Chelsea, it would appear the Red Devils have their man. Expect further updates in due course.

Another reason for fans to be joyful today is that Marcus Rashford is very close to extending his contract. According to Caught Offside (via TEAMTALK), the contract extension is not yet finalised but talks are in the advanced stage. From the club’s perspective, this would feel like a “new signing” as they were aware of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and the like.

From United’s perspective, they will surely bid again. After securing Mason Mount, their attention must now turn to an out-and-out striker.
