Liverpool Transfer News – Dominik Szoboszlai joins as newest signing and takes Steven Gerrard’s number
Liverpool has officially announced the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig, subject to the completion of his work permit. The Top Flight previously reported on the club’s interest in the Hungarian midfielder. Szboszlai has also announced what number he will wear next season. He takes the departing Naby Keita’s number 8 but, more importantly, the number of former player Steven Gerrard. He will have big shoes to fill if he wants to live up to even half of Gerrard’s status at Liverpool, but fans should rightly be excited.
Liverpool Transfer News – Romeo Lavia remains a target despite midfield signings
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that despite signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Liverpool is still in the race to sign Southampton’s Romeo Lavia. Khephren Thuram is also still someone the club has an interest in. Lavia was relegated with Southampton, but in fairness probably saved the club from further embarrassment. The 2004-born midfielder was a shining star in a poor side, and it is believed that Southampton is holding out on a £50M fee.
Liverpool Transfer News – Caoimhin Kelleher is looking for a fresh opportunity away from Liverpool
In a recent The Athletic mailbag, James Pearce has revealed that backup keeper and Irish International Caoimhin Kelleher is keen to leave the club. Kelleher would like to become the starter for another club, but at the present moment, there are not any options that have been appealing. Spanish keeper Adrian recently inked a new deal, although he is expected to be the third-string option for the Reds.
