There is a lot going on Arsenal in the transfer window. Thankfully for the fans, all the action seems to involve players being signed rather than being sold. However, to make sure the squad is in check, there are some departing players who must be addressed by Mikel Arteta.

However, there is one player who was recently sent out on loan who people tend to forget about and that player is Marquinhos. The reason why he isn’t spoken about is because people would assume, since he only signed last summer, that he will either be sent out on loan again or he would fight for his place at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal consider selling Marquinhos

However, he is considered to be a player who could be sold permanently. That is according to Sky Sports, who claim that Marquinhos’ future is being discussed and that sending him out on loan or selling him permanently are both viable options for Mikel Arteta.

Marquinhos didn’t do enough on loan to convince Arteta otherwise. Granted, he only had half a season at Norwich City but having only scored one league goal, it wasn’t enough. Marquinhos was quite a popular figure in Norfolk during his loan but he didn’t play anywhere near the level to get a chance in Arsenal’s first team.

Given the club’s massive plans in the transfer window, Mikel Arteta will take any additional finances he can get. Selling some deadwood players is what could be a resort.

However, to sell Marquinhos just one season after signing him, particularly when he was signed as a long-term investment, would be quite the statement.

Do you think Arsenal should keep, loan or sell Marquinhos?
