EXCELLENT news has just emerged for Arsenal fans. Ahead of the heavily anticipated announcement for their record signing Declan Rice, it has just been revealed that his medical tests have been booked in at London Colney.

According to The Mirror, the significant progress in the deal is a result of the Arsenal target cutting his holiday short. Returning from Dubai a few days ago, it’s thought that his intention is to finalise his imminent move to the Emirates Stadium.

Thankfully the West Ham captain doesn’t have far to travel since it’s just a short trip across London. For the longest time, there have been stories circulating in the media but now the deal is finally coming into fruition, this gives fans plenty of optimism for heading into next season.

There is a positive feeling in the air about this deal, which you’d expect when a club the size of Arsenal breaks their transfer record. The feeling is that Rice brings with him everything which Mikel Arteta is trying to embody – youth, hunger and tenacity.

Let’s not forget that Rice arrives as a European champion. Granted, it may have “only” been the Europa Conference League, however, to achieve such a feat at West Ham who struggled most of the season is quite remarkable.

Arsenal fans must hope that Rice brings with him the same love for his new club that he held for West Ham and the same desire to succeed. As a recognised England international and future captain, this is definitely Mikel Arteta’s best signing yet.

Do you think Declan Rice will succeed at Arsenal?
