Arsenal are known to have produced some amazing talent over the years. Going back to the likes of Tony Adams, Paul Merson, Ray Parlour, Ashley Cole, and Csec Fabregas to the current talents of Eddie Nketiah, Emile Smith-Rowe, and Bukayo Saka; who are an inspiration to all Arsenal youth products.
One of the latest talents though that has impressed through his time with Arsenal could be heading to the exit door at the tender age of 19.
Who will be leaving Arsenal permanently?
The youngster in question is Charlie Patino. The central midfielder has stated that he is not willing go out on loan once again after playing a season in the Championship with Blackpool.
Patino is still held in high regard but with players in his way from establishing himself as a regular at Arsenal he has grown impatient and is wanting to play as much as possible rather than sat on the bench at Arsenal.
How did his time at Blackpool go?
Patino just had one year by the seaside but it was one that was very educational for him. Blackpool had a torrid year and it was one to forget but Patino, who was enamoured by the fans, could leave Bloomfield Road with his head help high.
For a player who is just 19 years old he looked like one of the most senior midfielders. He constantly looked to be on the ball, in posession trying to find a key forward pass and he certainly did not shy away from a tackle. Under failed managers Michael Appleton and Mick McCarthy, he was substituted far too often which restricted his time fully on the pitch despite making 37 appearances.
With his own chant expressing how much he dislikes Preston North End, it is unlikely he will return to Blackpool following their relegation but Patino certainly could walk into any Championship side as he picked up three goals and four assists last season.
Buyback?
Arsenal obviously do not want to lose him fully but are not going to stand in the way of Patino. However, they are wanting to add a buyback clause into the contract as they know he has potential to go all the way to the top and do not want to be left with a situation where they are paying out over the odds for him to return to Emirates Stadium.
Patino has represented England at Under 15s, 16, 17s, 19s and 20s but has only made cup appearances for the Gunners but it did include a debut goal against Sunderland in the League Cup.
Could it not work at Arsenal?
With Arsenal revamping their midfield with Granit Xhaka leaving, Thomas Partey reportedly going to Saudi Arabia and Declan Rice being brought in, you would think that Patino could be given an opportunity under Arteta considering he promotes youth.
Some eagle eyed Premier League sides might be interested but Patino is eager and wanting to play so they need to give him the assurances that he will play regularly.
