Bournemouth defied everyone by staying up last season. After the sacking of Scott Parker it looked like things were all doom and gloom for the Cherries but Gary O’Neil managed to keep them up and keep them up comfortably.
However, it will not be another season for O’Neil to make the decisions as he was remarkably sacked earlier this week and replaced with Andoni Iraola the former Rayo Vallecano man in rapid time.
This means he is plugged with the task of bettering what O’Neil achieved this year and he intends to do so straight away with a Netherlands legend’s son.
From Roma to Bournemouth
Since moving to Roma from Ajax in 2018, Justin Kluivert, the son of former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert, has not exactly set the world alight in Italy. In fact, he has been loaned out three times in an effort for him to gain experience and get some much-needed game time.
Kluivert has been linked with a move to Premier League on several occasions with Manchester United and West Ham United both interested.
However, moves to RB Leipzig, Nice, and Valencia all materialised Kluivert has attempted to make a name for himself in the world of football and not be associated with his father.
This year in La Liga with Valencia he has put in steady performances and scored six goals in the Spanish top flight. With his ability to dribble past opponents and put in very good crosses, it could be what Bournemouth need especially with Kieffer Moore leading the attack.
How much would Bournemouth have to spend?
With millions upon millions being spent on players Bournemouth could be getting a real steal. Kluivert did impress at Valencia and it is believed that they have struck a deal with Roma.
The price stated is just £9.5 million and for a player who is exciting and has a good footballing brain that could turn out to be one of the signings of the season.
It will be a tough year for Bournemouth again but with a talent like Kluivert in their side then they could surprise people all over again.
