Chelsea immediately reject Manchester United’s second Mason Mount bid

Manchester United’s second bid for Mason Mount rejected by Chelsea
Manchester United seemed to make progress for Mason Mount today. They submitted their second official bid for the Englishman. As called by David Ornstein of The Athletic, Chelsea countered the offer worth £50m (£45m + £5m add ons) to £65m (£60m + £5m add ons). This is a total increase of £15m, which is a significant gap which must be addressed if Erikt en Hag is serious about getting this deal through.
Fabrizio Romano has added further detail to this claim, by stating that this offer was rejected within just a few hours. Therefore, understandably, the Chelsea board didn’t give much thought to this bid which does not seem to be increasing substantially enough.
Further, Romano claims that Manchester United will not be bullied into paying a crazy fee. This likely means they won’t just give into Chelsea’s demands. However, the transfer expert does claim that talks are continuing, so there will likely be a third bid which we will analyse in due course.
For Manchester United, the stance is clear. They would like to sign a striker, midfielder, centre back and goalkeeper. Ideally, Mason Mount is their preferred midfield choice since he can play box-to-box or creatively. In contrast, the Reds are also considering the hijack of Declan Rice from West Ham. Rice would be more expensive but could be greater value for money than Mount.
Do you think Manchester United will end up signing Mason Mount, or will he stay at Chelsea?
