Arsenal fans must take their hats off to Mikel Arteta, the board and the recruitment team for this one. For too long, the club drove a hard bargain and were difficult to negotiate with when it came to their top transfer targets, but they appear to have smashed their chase for Kai Havertz out the park.
Within just a week or being linked, it is believed that all parties have agreed on the deal to go ahead. Personal terms were a breeze and essentially accepted straight away since Kai Havertz wants Arsenal, but it was just a case of dealing with the club negotiations.

Trusted source David Ornstein has today revealed that the two London clubs have reached an agreement in principle. Now, Kai Havertz will sign for £65m which was always the rumoured valuation.
🚨 Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea to sign forward Kai Havertz. Deal for 24yo Germany international is worth around £65m. Personal terms are already in place, attacker’s medical will follow in due course @TheAthleticFC #AFC #CFC https://t.co/B24O9cCnhF

In my opinion, this is a bargain for a player of Kai Havertz’ ability. The German playmaker played out of position for all of last season but was still Chelsea’s best player and top goal scorer – this says a lot about his mentality and ability.
Given Mikel Arteta’s tactics and squad necessities, it’s thought that Havertz will return to his more natural position as an attacking midfielder. He will likely fill the void left by Granit Xhaka’s departure, acting box-to-box to assist Martin Odegaard in his anchoring of midfield and attack.
Now all that must occur is the medical and after this, Kai Havertz will be an Arsenal player.
