Jurgen Klopp always has a difficult time in the transfer window. Unlike other big six clubs, the Liverpool boss must essentially beg the board of directors for ages before he is granted the financial permission to sign the players he wants. This sets Liverpool back, despite them making the best transfer of the window so far with Alexis Mac Allister.

Having signed one World Cup hero, Liverpool are now being linked with another. And much like the Mac Allister deal, this one could come at a bargain price too (which should hopefully please the board).

According to journalist Giacomo Iacobellis (via Rousing the Kop), Liverpool are ready to pay Fiorentina’s asking price of £25m to sign Sofyan Amrabat. The Moroccan midfielder has had quite the season, firstly he broke the African record with Morocco in the World Cup. Secondly, he reached the Europa Conference Final with Fiorentina but unfortunately lost out in the last minute.

Amrabat is only 26 years old, which is hard to believe given the depth of experience he already possesses. He is yet to play in the Premier League, but his strength and adaptability makes him the perfect EPL-type player, and certainly one who could flourish under Klopp.

One thing about Amrabat is that he has plenty of desire to succeed at the highest level, but he hasn’t always been surrounded by the right environment to win. Thankfully, Liverpool’s aim for next season is to start winning trophies again, after their written off season last time out.

With the ageing Liverpool midfield and players likely to depart this summer, Amrabat would be guaranteed game time if he were to sign for Liverpool. Therefore, this move seems like a win win for all the parties involved.

Do you think Liverpool will sign Sofyan Amrabat?
