Chelsea could replace Kai Havertz with £30m man “in the coming days”

Chelsea are closing in on their first deal of the summer transfer window and as reported by certain tabloids in the UK, fans can expect an announcement to be made in the coming days.
With Mauricio Pochettino taking over at the helm, he has given the green light for the board to sign a new striker, midfielder and goalkeeper. It’s thought that the striker is their most important target, with Kai Havertz likely to leave and the jury out on whether Romelu Lukaku should be accepted to return.
Well, fear not. According to Standard, Chelsea hope they can complete the deal for Nicolas Jackson in the coming days. The 21-year-old Villarreal striker caught the attention of many following his fine form at the end of this La Liga season, scoring nine goals in the last eight league matches.
Jackson has growing interest from clubs across Europe, with Chelsea facing competition from AC Milan and Aston Villa. Given Jackson’s desire to play in the Premier League, the Blues must act quick to sign him, which they are doing.
We reported earlier today that Chelsea would be willing to meet the release clause in his contract, which is £30m – a fee which seems measly for a young player of Jackson’s quality.
Interestingly, Standard added a different dynamic to this deal, one which could not be located by the untrained eye. Jackson has the same agent as Moises Caicedo, which could benefit them in future conversations within this transfer window.
It’s been widely reported that Chelsea would like to sign Moises Caicedo, with the Ecuadorian guaranteed to leave Brighton given De Zerbi’s pact to him in January. Therefore, if Chelsea can get into their mutual agent’s good books, then we could see Caicedo at Stamford Bridge quicker than anticipated.
Do you think Chelsea will sign Nicolas Jackson?
