Paris Saint-Germain just cannot leave Arsenal alone. First, they tried to sign their club captain Martin Odegaard and failed, if today’s Arsenal transfer news is anything to go by. But now, the French giants have held talks with Mikel Arteta about what I can only assume is him moving from his current role at Arsenal to managing them at the Parc des Princes.
Thankfully for fans, the PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos, who spoke directly with Mikel Arteta, is not hopeful that this appointment will come into any fruition. And why would it? Arteta is only just getting started with his immense project at the Emirates Stadium.
The news comes from GFFN, who claim that Arteta is the preferred option to take the soon-to-be managerial opening in Paris. However, the deal is not likely to happen since Arteta is very much comfortable in North London and would like to stay and potentially challenge for the title again next season.

It would be a weird time for Arteta to leave, in all honesty. His appointment didn’t go down entirely well with the Emirates faithful when he was first announced, but boy has he justified his appointment. Last season, the Gunners winning the title was not a genuine conversation but this season, they came ever so close from taking the crown from Manchester City.
With the right signings this summer, Arsenal could genuinely win the title next season. Failing that, they are dubbed to pick up at least one piece of silverware and qualify for the Champions League again. This is their territory now, and it’s thanks to Arteta.
Do you think Mikel Arteta will stay at Arsenal next season?
