Breaking news within the last hour has seen Brighton announce the signing of Mahmoud Dahoud as a free agent. With the transfer window only opening recently, this is one of the best deals to happen within the Premier League so far.
Dahoud is a great midfielder but was deemed surplus to requirements for Borussia Dortmund’s immense title challenge last season. Obviously, it’s quite difficult to compete in a midfield with Julian Brandt and Jude Bellingham tearing it apart.
We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to sign midfielder @modahoud8, when his contract with @BVB expires at the end of the month. ✍

With that being said, Dahoud has the chance to prove himself in a new league. Brighton is the perfect place for any player to sign since they are on an upwards trajectory under Roberto de Zerbi, with the players on board and supportive of their entire squad.
Dahoud is seen as the Moises Caicedo replacement. It seems that Brighton have pretty much accepted the fact that Caicedo is on his way out this summer.

Brighton fans react to the signing of Mahmoud Dahoud
Bad news aside, this is great business from Brighton. Let’s see what the fans had to say about the announcement of Mahmoud Dahoud.
Smart. Dahoud is a very undervalued asset if you can keep him fit. He has the technical ability and temperament to control a game from deeper.

This Twitter user gets it. Dahoud is brought in to fill the void left by Caicedo’s departure, controlling the play in the number 6 role.
What a baller to sign on a free 👌⚽️🔵⚪️ #BHAFC

A free signing is never a bad thing, but it becomes a great thing when they ball as hard as Dahoud.
Fingers crossed that stops some of our fans from constantly complaining for a week or two🤣

It’s not all doom and gloom on the South Coast.
