Arsenal transfer news – William Saliba’s new deal “approved”

Perhaps the best piece of business which Mikel Arteta and Arsenal can secure is tying down their best players to new deals. They had their best season in many years last time out, with William Saliba proving key to their defensive reshuffle.

According to the first of four updates from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal have successfully secured a new deal for William Saliba, who will officially put pen to paper until 2027 (with an option until 2028) when he returns from holiday.

The Frenchman is currently on holiday in Mykonos, Greece. Lucky for some, I know!

Bursting onto the scene under Arsene Wenger’s tutelage, it wasn’t to be for Ainsley Maitland-Niles under the new manager Mikel Arteta. Despite winning an FA Cup trophy together, Arteta has no plans for the Hale End graduate going forward, so he has been released from his contract.

Further, Fabrizio Romano understands that there is still conversation between the club and Reiss Nelson, since he is the Hale End graduate who the Gunners would like to keep.
