Manchester United Transfer News – Kylian Mbappe told to move to Manchester United should he leave PSG

A report from Madrid paper El Pais states that Qatari figures with influence around Paris Saint-Germain, who are chaired by Nasser Al-Khelaifi, have informed Kylian Mbappe to move to Manchester United. This comes with Qatari businessman Sheikh Jassim bidding for the ownership of Manchester United. Sheikh Jassim is the chairman of the Qatar Islamic Bank. Given the potential Qatari ties between the two clubs, the report may have some surface-level truth to it, but what does Mbappe think? El Pais states the world-class striker finds the idea “interesting.” Even with this said, it still feels like Mbappe’s most likely destination remains Real Madrid.

Manchester United Transfer News – Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid composition is described as confusing

iNews are reporting that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, owner of INEOS, has given optimism to his bid competition, Sheikh Jassim, because of Ratcliffe’s bid details. Ratcliffe is willing to let the Glazers retain a percentage of ownership of Manchester United but wants a clause that pushes the Glazers to sell their stake by 2026. This process, according to iNews, is seen as confusing to internal sources at the club because it is hard to value the ownership share in the future. Furthermore it is being reported that Ratcliffe plans on using loans and bonds from banks to fund the club’s operations which can only spell trouble with an asset so valuable.

Manchester United Transfer News – Yan Sommer highlights potential David De Gea replacement

Alex Crook of TalkSPORT is reporting that Manchester United plan to increase their interest in Bayern Munich’s Yan Sommer. The Swiss goalkeeper is expected to leave Bayern this summer, with Manuel Neuer set to return ahead of next season. Crook reports that Jordan Pickford and Andre Onana are also on the club’s shortlist, but Sommer is seen as a much cheaper alternative, given his age. Still, the most likely outcome remains David De Gea signing the contract offer on the table from United, but that has yet to have happened.
