How Manchester United could lineup next season: Mount and Osimhen?!

Given the summer transfer window is just round the corner, Manchester United need to invest heavily into Erik ten Hag’s plan. After finishing third in the Premier League, they would like to mount a tighter title challenge next season.

How Manchester United could lineup next season

Here’s how I think Erik ten Hag could lineup next season, if his primary transfer targets are granted.

GK: David de Gea

There are talks of signing another goalkeeper (perhaps Diogo Costa or David Raya). However, I would say don’t fix what’s not broken. The Golden Glove winner will retain his place next season.

LB: Luke Shaw

Luke Shaw was probably United’s best player throughout last season and is severely underrated when pundits select their teams of the season.

CB: Lisandro Martinez

When injury free, Lisandro Martinez is one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

CB: Raphael Varane

Again, Varane is one of the best assets to Manchester United, so he’ll retain his place in the starting eleven next season. Thankfully, though, Erik ten Hag will have Kim Min-Jae as backup.

RB: Diogo Dalot

Having recently signed a long-term contract, Diogo Dalot is seen as the best option at right-back, winning the trust of Erik ten Hag.

CDM: Casemiro

Of course. The destroyer Casemiro will continue to put in graveyard performances next season. What a player.

CM: Mason Mount

Mount’s box-to-box approach makes him a better option to Christian Eriksen, in my opinion. If United get this deal over the line, he’ll add plenty of energy to this United midfield.

CM: Bruno Fernandes

If Harry Maguire is sold in the summer, Bruno will be given the permanent captain’s armband. It’s likely that with Mount coming in, Bruno may drop a little deeper than he is used to.

RW: Antony

There’s certainly more to see from Antony but he was in good form towards the end of last season.

ST: Victor Osimhen

What a signing this would be. I hope for the sake of the Premier League that Erik ten Hag pulls this off.

LW: Marcus Rashford

United’s primary goal-scorer last season will look to return to the wing next season.
