Arsenal Transfer News – Nicolas Pepe will not be brought back into the Arsenal squad and has been transfer listed
According to The Telegraph, winger Nicolas Pepe will not be given a chance to become an Arsenal player again. The club is expecting offers to come in for the Ivorian international, who has just a year left on his current contract. Nicolas Pepe joined Arsenal from French side Lille in 2019 for what is still a club-record fee of £72M. While Pepe at least has a couple of respectable seasons at the club, he never lived anywhere near up to the hype he was given in 2019. Last season with Arsenal, Nicolas Pepe had just 3 goal contributions in 20 Premier League matches. It’s hard to say what sort of fee Nicolas Pepe will command, but it will be significantly less than what Arsenal paid for him.
Arsenal Transfer News – Club inch closer to Declan Rice as Bayern drop out of the race
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany is reporting that Bayer Munich will not submit an offer for West Ham’s Declan Rice. The price for the English midfielder is not something Bayern is willing to move on, and there is already a great belief that Rice wants to stay in England anyway. This leaves Arsenal as the frontrunner for his signature, but there is nothing stating that Arsenal and West Ham are close to an agreement. At this stage of the Rice transfer saga, Bayern was seen as the only competitor, so this is excellent news for Edu and Co.
Arsenal Transfer News – Charlie Patino still wants to leave, but Arsenal likely to add clause
In his latest daily debrief, Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Charlie Patino is expected to leave Arsenal permanently this summer. The young midfielder wants a new challenge, and that idea has not changed since the first reports of it. Romano states that any deal would likely include a buy-back clause for Arsenal, given Patino is a highly-rated prospect. It remains to be seen what sort of interest Patino will garner. Despite being an English youth international, he would qualify as a domestic player in La Liga, as he has a Spanish passport through his father.
