Liverpool Transfer News – Alexis Mac Allister will join Liverpool for just £35M, not £45M

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool has activated Alexis Mac Allister’s clause that will cost the Merseyside club just £35M. Reports the last few days had suggested the fee could be somewhere around the £45M range, but it is ultimately even lower. It has to be said that this is an absolute bargain for Liverpool. Signing a World Cup winner and phenomenal Premier League midfielder for such a price is excellent business by the club. It’s hard to say how much influence incoming sporting director Jorg Schmadtke had on the deal, but his summer is off to a great start nonetheless.

Liverpool Transfer News – Leighton Clarkson set to leave club permanently

Leighton Clarkson spent last season on loan from Liverpool Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen. Clarkson was an essential figure for The Dons, who qualified for the Europa League playoff round. James Pearce is reporting that Clarkson will likely leave the club on a permanent deal this summer. Aberdeen wants to bring the 21-year-old midfielder back, but he is also attracting interest from other Scottish sides and EFL Championship clubs.

Liverpool Transfer News – Club could still enter the Moises Caicedo saga

Despite signing his teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool has not been ruled out of the race for Moises Caicedo. Sam Dean of The Telegraph reports that depending on the finances of a potential Moises Caicedo deal, Liverpool could still move for the Ecuadorian international. As of now, Arsenal and Chelsea are the names at the forefront of the Caicedo sweepstakes. Liverpool could very well double-dip with Brighton’s midfield, but it seems more likely the club will sign someone like Khephren Thuram.
