As the curtains are drawn on an unprecedented 2022-23 season, the stage is already set for the next installment with teams getting busy and ready for the summer transfer window. Come June 9, the names and the clubs will start doing the rounds, and one player, whose name is already embroiled in a transfer saga is Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

What’s with Mason Mount?

At the club since the age of 6, Mount has represented his beloved Blues 195 times in all competitions, scoring 33 goals. As a result, the midfielder has been a fan favourite ever since his debut season in 2019-20. But with the chastising 2022-23 season behind them and Mount’s contract up in 2024, the player is evaluating a move away from his childhood club as talks have reportedly broken down over a new deal with Todd Boehly’s boardroom.

To Mount’s benefit, rival clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are involved in a race to snap up the midfielder. The question, though, remains about which club has the right conditions for Mount to revive and thrive.
