Liverpool Transfer News – Thiago ‘unlikely’ to be offered a new contract to extend time at Anfield
According to Neil Jones of GOAL.com, Thiago could leave Liverpool on a free transfer in 2024, when his contract is up. As of now, it is believed Thiago will not be re-signed by the club. While undoubtedly a talented midfielder, Thiago has struggled to stay healthy while at Liverpool. The Spanish International missed over 20 games this season alone which include a hip problem that required surgery. Now at 32 years old, perhaps Liverpool believes the midfielder cannot be relied upon any further and feel an exit in a year is the best scenario. Should a player of Thiago’s ability leave, the club must ensure a proper replacement is found.
He was once hailed as an “exceptional player” by his former boss at Bayern, Hansi Flick.
Liverpool Transfer News – Club legend Jamie Carragher says Joel Matip should be sold if they can get £10M
Carragher was recently featured on Redmen TV’s podcast and discussed what he would do this summer on transfers. Joel Matip, whose contract expires next summer was discussed.
"“I look at the defence and I think Joel Matip now has got a year to go. If you got £10million, whatever the price may be, it’s probably right to move on.”"
Turning 32 in the summer, the question does have to be asked… how much does Matip have left to give? After February 13th, Matip played just 5 matches for Liverpool in all competitions despite being fit enough to make the bench. Does the Liverpool board agree with Carragher? Time will tell.
Liverpool Transfer News – Liverpool has ‘real intentions’ on pursuing Manu Kone, according to the player’s entourage
As exclusively revealed by Christian Falk via Caught Offside, Manu Kone of Borussia Monchengladbach is viewed as an alternative to Jude Bellingham for Liverpool. Furthermore, Liverpool has been in contact with Kone’s entourage who believe the club has genuine interest in the player. A deal for as low as £35M could be enough to see the player move to England.
