The Premier League is blessed with some of the most talented creators in the world who weaved their magic once more in the 2022-23 season. In this list, we look at the five players who bagged the most number of assists in the competition.
#5 Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – 11 assists
Bukayo Saka has been improving consistently in the Premier League since making his debut in the competition for Arsenal in January 2019. In the 2022-23 season, he posted his best figures for both goals and assists. He netted 14 times and bagged another 11 assists, demonstrating his creative side of the game.
#4 Michael Olise (Crystal Palace) – 11 assists
One of the breakout stars of the 2022-23 Premier League season was Michael Olise, who made 11 assists in 37 games for Crystal Palace. Since he managed the same number of assists than Saka, he’s ranked higher than his Arsenal counterpart.
His dribbling ability was second to none and possesses an impeccable vision for passing. In a season where the Eagles went through plenty of ups and downs, Olise was symbol of consistency.
#3 Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 12 assists
Mohamed Salah is the only player who finished inside the top five rankings for both goals scored and assists made. While his 19 goals ranked him fourth on the goalscoring charts, his 12 assists put him in third place here. His tally includes a hat-trick of assists against Leicester City on matchday 36.
#2 Leandro Trossard (Arsenal) – 12 assists
Leandro Trossard is the only player on the list whose bagged assists with two different teams in the season. He started the campaign with Brighton but joined Arsenal in January. Having assisted only thrice in the first half of the season with the Seagulls, the Belgian bagged 10 more with the Gunners, indicating that he found his best form with the north London side.
#1 Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – 16 assists
No surprises here. Kevin De Bruyne remains the best creator in the Premier League, and perhaps, even in Europe’s top five leagues. For the fourth time in the competition, the Belgian wizard ended up being the best assist-maker with 16 for the 2022-23 season.
