Manchester United have been linked with Harry Kane in recent weeks, with Erik ten Hag revealing his plans to strengthen United’s attack for next season. While Harry Kane would certainly provide 25+ goals and help with United’s all-round attacking play, it’s very unlikely that he’ll join another Premier League club unless he plays under Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
Therefore, it is important for Manchester United to consider alternative options, which thankfully they are doing. There aren’t many in the calibre of Harry Kane that are available in the market, the only two options which spring to mind are Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic. Therefore, if finances prove to be an issue, then United may have to consider more budget-friendly options.
Manchester United consider Rasmus Hojlund as Harry Kane alternative
According to Football Insider sources, Manchester United now want to sign Rasmus Hojlund as the young Denmark international has sky-rocketed up their summer wish-list. Hojlund is seen as the perfect alternative to the expensive options Kane and Osimhen.
I must admit, the deal makes more sense. Pursuing Rasmus Hojlund who is a young and energetic striker who guarantees goals would allow United the financial flexibility to strengthen in other areas. Let’s not forget, Erik ten Hag must also sign a new centre back and a new midfielder at least before he considers striker options.
Manchester United will play in the Champions League next season which means a busy fixture schedule for Erik ten Hag’s men.
As they always plan to push the furthest in any competition they face, it is important that squad depth is considered when assessing transfer options. Hojlund would come in and provide a new dynamic, not settling to be benched for Marcus Rashford. He’ll want to start every match and continue his fine run of goal scoring form.
