With Premier League clubs all playing their final games of the season yesterday, it was a mixture of emotions for multiple players. James Milner being one of them – having played for Liverpool for eight years as part of an extraordinary career which dates all the way back to 2002, Milner played his final match under Jurgen Klopp yesterday.

And what a thriller it was. From going 2-0 up to a sudden 4-2 deficit, Liverpool clawed their way back to make it 4-4 with Milner playing his role well.

With Liverpool having a subpar season, sometimes change can be a good thing. Milner has been reliable, resilient and has led by example, but at this stage of his career, the Reds need a fresh burst of energy in the midfield.

The Reds are strongly linked with Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, who was famously part of the Argentine side who lifted the World Cup last December. We reported earlier that Mac Allister was on top of Klopp’s summer wish-list.

Alexis Mac Allister spotted in tears as he’s linked with Liverpool move

As reported by HITC, Alexis Mac Allister was spotted in tears after playing his final game for Brighton and Hove Albion yesterday. In my opinion this is just virtue signalling since if he wanted to stay at Brighton, he would have done. But that’s a story for a different day.

One thing which can be said as fact is that Liverpool will be getting an extraordinary midfielder and one who knows what it takes to win. Having played alongside some of the best players in the world and on the biggest stage of them all, Mac Allister will bring a lot to this Liverpool team who seeks to return to its glory days next season.

Do you think Liverpool will sign Alexis Mac Allister?
